Jambo tea is a Minority owned company located in New Jersey, whose goal is to supply high quality teas that are 100% from Kenya. Kenya prides itself as the producer of the best teas in the world due to good agronomical and manufacturing practices. The taste of this tea is very distinctive and robust. When Kenyan teas are blended with other cheap quality teas this taste is diluted and frustrating to tea enthusiasts.

Jambo Tea was started in 2005 by Joseph Matara, an avid tea drinker from Kenya who was frustrated with the quality of tea that was locally available. Born in one the tea producing regions of Kenya, Mr. Matara grew up knowing the taste of good tea. He realized that most of the tea sold in the United States was heavily blended with other lower quality teas from other tea growing regions. He sent out to start Jambo Tea to fulfill the needs of tea enthusiasts that want to enjoy a real cup of tea. Mr. Matara’s family owns a small tea plantation in Kenya.

Jambo Tea recognizes its social responsibility in the regions that it does business in. To satisfy this responsibility, Jambo tea has pledged to contribute 10% of its net profits go to support charities that support education and health for children in rural Africa.
